Meet your Inspector

Because the repair or replacement of a failing septic system or a private well can be very costly, it is vital to have the inspection of these systems conducted by an experienced, qualified professional.

Unfortunately, there are inspectors in the real estate industry who perform these inspections as a part-time side hustle or as one of a variety of other services. Please be aware that not all inspectors have the proper licensure to conduct these inspections.

At VMI, performing residential real estate well and septic evaluations isn’t just one of the things I do—it’s all that I do.

My interest in science and the environment led me to earn a bachelor of science degree in health science with a minor in microbiology from Western Illinois University and pursue a career in the environmental health field.

As a member of the Illinois Environmental Health Association, I am a Licensed Environmental Health Practitioner (LEHP) through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. This licensure must be renewed every two years, and continuing education is required.

My first industry experience was as a health inspector with a local county health department where I reviewed thousands of design plans for new and replacement septic systems and also inspected the installation of these systems for code compliance.

With more than 25 years of industry-related experience and tens of thousands of systems inspected, I am uniquely qualified to help you navigate this element of your real estate purchase or sale experience.
